“The sanctuary of Montevallo Presbyterian Church was filled with music, reflection and celebration on the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 8, as community members gathered for Montevallo’s third annual Black History Season celebration.

Hosted by the Montevallo Legacy Project, this year’s program, titled “Black Joy: Now, Then and Beyond,” centered on joy as both a historical and present-day force within the African American community.”
