These posters feature designs submitted to the Black History Month Youth Banner Design Contest. Students from elementary through high school shared their visions of the strength, pride, dignity, and joy of Montevallo’s African American community.
Each poster is 11 x 14’’, except for Adrian Mayton’s design at 11 x 17’’.
Proceeds support MLP and the Montevallo Public Schools Art Program.

Little Franklin’s Town is a beautifully illustrated coloring book by Arabella Cortes that invites readers of all ages to explore Black Montevallo history through the eyes of a young boy named Little Franklin, inspired by lifelong resident Oscar Franklin Fluker. Rooted in the Untold Stories series, this book offers a creative, reflective way to engage with the past and imagine a more inclusive future.
